There was an abandoned house in the paddocks near my house when I was young and it begged to have its windows smashed by little boys throwing rocks. It sure was fun until a grown up told us off. I still can’t think why it was wrong because developers were going to do it with machines soon anyway.
SAVED FROM A LIFE OF STATUE BASHINGPerhaps he wanted to curtail the possibility that we would become rampant window smashers, iconoclasts, Anabaptists, Taliban Buddha statue blower-uppers. I don’t know. Anyway, I gave up window smashing – for a while.
LATERThe latent vandal in me rose again as an adult teacher and when I saw the famous Johari Window. I broke that too.
MAYBE JUST BENTDon’t get me wrong. I love it and I didn’t actually break it. Let’s just say I bent it a bit.
